Here at Take Heart Tulsa, we are always looking for fun and exciting things to do in and around Tulsa. That is why we set up the Singles Speak, Take Heart Tulsa Listens survey that will be going on now until Wednesday, October 24th. We want to know what you’ve been dying to do around town so we can make it happen!
I thought that I would share a few things around Tulsa that are on my events and excursions bucket list, since we’ve been on subject for the last week.
#1 Downtown Tulsa Tunnel Tour
Beneath downtown Tulsa there is a system of secret underground tunnels that were built to connect many of Tulsa’s early skyscrapers (see map). The tunnels were designed for freight, but soon many oil and gas millionaires learned that they could use the underground paths to protect themselves from danger while traveling around downtown. I caught a glimpse of the tunnels once during The Child Care Resource Centers yearly benefit, Top of the Town, but that’s pretty much all I know about the Tulsa tunnels and I want to know more!
Luckily, the universe was in my favor this week and just this afternoon I met with a tour guide downtown that can help me knock out the first excursion on my list!
