The Opening Doors Project was a collaboration between Tulsa Habitat for Humanity and local artists.  The project was created to showcase art, raise awareness and open doors to help build communities and hope in the Tulsa area.  Six local artists were invited to select a door from the Tulsa Habitat for Humanity ReStore to use as their canvas, beyond that, the only rules were that there were no rules.  The artists were given free rein to create however they were inspired. Two of the doors were selected by the public via social media, were featured in the live auction at the Steel Toes & Stilettos Gala on April 9, 2016. The remaining four were auctioned off in the silent auction at the gala.

“I worked with Chelsea and Take Heart Events on several large galas when I worked for Tulsa Habitat for Humanity. She brings wonderful ideas and skill to execute those ideas. Loved working with her and would do so again in a Heart-beat!” – Krisann Diaz, Former Development Officer, Tulsa Habitat for Humanity
